A club trip to one of the UK’s most popular inland, commercially run diving centres. We’re planning two dives on both the Wednesday and the Thursday. It’s a long way to travel for a single day, but if anyone wanted to just join us for a day, that would be fine. Just let Cath know when you book.
Stoney Cove has excellent facilities. For the diving there is a 6m area, the main area is 22m. There is also a 35m area. Lots of underwater attractions, including a large tug boat that allows a wreck penetration dive. For further information, see our location page and the Stoney Cove website.
Suitable for all levels of qualified diver. However, Ocean Divers and their buddies must adhere to the 20m depth limit. If any Ocean Divers book, it’s hoped that we will be able to rotate buddy pairings so that they always have a more experienced diver with them, but anyone Sports Diver and above who wishes to visit the 35m area gets the opportunity to do that on at least one dive.
The plan is to drive down there on Wednesday morning, aiming to arrive for about 10am. We’ll then enjoy two dives in Stoney Cove. We can drive home after the second dive on the Thursday afternoon.

We’ll also try to arrange car sharing for the journey down there if anyone is interested in this.

In case anyone is wondering, this trip has been planned for mid-week because the dive site gets incredibly busy at weekends. People queue at the gate from 6:30am ready for when it opens at 8:30am to get a car parking place in the front car park. You really don’t want to end up in the back car park because its a very long walk in all your kit to the water, and back again!
